Rowan food and biomass were employed to design and project manage a site where the aim was to intake raw oats and sell stabilised groats to the market place.
The plan included a cleaning route to remove small oats and over size material then onto a destoner. Oats are then divided into fractions and sent for dehulling. Groats are sent for stabilising and husk sent for grinding.Groats are stabilised using steam then cooled and dried, then depending on the customer the stabilised product is either sent to be made into stabilised oat flour or to be made into rolled oats.
